Rewarding kids since 2010: Brag Tags

brag tags @ boost promotions

Boost Promotions has been rewarding kids since 2010. How? Well have you heard of something called Brag Tags?  Most teachers have come across the phrase “Brag Tags” in their career, but they aren’t just for teachers. Anyone can use them parents, grandparents, or even babysitters.

Over here at Boost Promotions we see Brag Tags as an improved way to reward kids on their good behavior. In the past parents and teachers alike have rewarded kids with sugary treats or cheap trinkets, which in turn has had no lasting affect on the kids and they soon forget what they did to deserve the treat. Our Brag Tags remind kids why they received each particular award and boost their desire to want to achieve more goals in the future.

With each Brag Tag earned you can see the change in them taking place. The confidence in the kids grows and flourishes. Kids are the future and we truly have no idea what they are capable of. So lets encourage them to think outside the box, motivate them to take on the hard math problems, and reward them for being kind to the new kid.

We also want to remind them of what they have accomplish, so when those hard days do come they can look at all their Brag Tags they have collected and realize how much they have done and how much they are capable of! So remind your kids why they are special and what they can achieve when they set their mind to something. Head on over to our website and pick out of few Brag Tags for your kids and watch them grow!

Help Las Vegas Victims with Booster Tags

We are a family owned company, and this family, is from Las Vegas.  As many of you know - there has been a tragedy among our friends and family who reside there and feel attached to LV.  We called the city of Las Vegas our home for more than 10 years and it will always be a special place to us and our families. Our hearts go out to all the friends and families affected by this tragedy. We wish we could give to each and every person who is suffering and in need.

While we can't do that, we'd still like to help. We have designed a line of Las Vegas memorabilia bag and luggage tags and we will donate 100% of the proceeds to the victims of the Las Vegas shooting. For those of you who feel connected in one way or another, purchase a tag to support your friends and families who are in need. You can help by repping Las Vegas.

Visit BoosterTags to help by purchasing your own tag.  And please help us spread the word by sharing our initiative with all you know who want to help.

Thanks for your continued support!

NEW Wonder Movie and Meet Sydney

September is Craniofacial Acceptance Month. This month is so very special to us at Boost Promotions because we have someone so very special in our lives who we share this month with.

This is Sydney. Sydney was born with Treacher Collins Syndrome. Treacher Collins is a condition that affects the development of facial tissues and bones. [More about Treacher Collins Syndrome below.]

Sydney is why this month is special to us. Because we know from experience, that people are people. With or without craniofacial conditions. Sydney, along with anybody else that may have a "difference", is not her condition.
In an effort to bring awareness to the craniofacial world and all our friends with craniofacial differences, we have teamed up with CCA, the Children's Craniofacial Association and their Choose Kind Challenge in conjunction with the release of the new Wonder movie based on the novel Wonder by R.J. Palacio.
Wonder is a novel about a boy named August "Auggie" Pullman who has a rare craniofacial disorder. Up until now, Auggie has been homeschooled. But now, he's going mainstream. Wonder is about his journey through mainstream school. Being the new kid, being different, making friends, being bullied, and dealing with it all while trying to discover who he is.
Now this beautiful story comes to life on screens (starting November 17th) this year to touch all of our hearts and to keep reminding us that we are all equal and to help us remember to Choose Kind.
To become a Wonder Certified Kind classroom, take the challenge here. To learn about bringing Wonder to your school, visit our friends at CCA. Help us achieve our vision that all people are accepted for who they are and not what they look like. For our own life Auggie, Sydney and all the other Auggies out there.

About Treacher Collins

Treacher Collins is a condition that affects the development of facial tissues and bones. Sydney was born with an underdeveloped mandible (jaw) and nonexistent zygomatic arches (cheek bones). Because her jaw was so small and set so far back, it obstructed her airway and she uses a tracheostomy to breathe. Sydney was also born without lower eyelids and had to have some grafted from the skin behind her ears. And speaking of her ears, they are very low set and very small and adorable. Because her ears are in this position, it affects her hearing. Sound cannot travel through the necessary channels to get to the inner ear. So, because of this hearing loss, Sydney uses sign language to communicate. Which we think is way cool. Another phenotypic manifestation of Treacher Collins, which Sydney also suffers from, is a cleft palate. Most people may assume that a developmental delay and intellectual disability accompany facial deformity, but more than 95% of people affected with Treacher Collins have normal intelligence.

Making the Constitution Fun!

This month, we have a lot of patriotic days to celebrate.

We have Patriot Day on September 11th
September 15th is National POW/MIA Recognition Day
Constitution Day on September 17th which of course lead us into
Constitution Week September 17-23rd
The Air Force celebrates their birthday on September 18th

It's a whole month of red, white, and blue - through and through!  We love to see how all our customers make holidays fun in their classrooms!

We also like to share ideas here and there.  The Fourth of July is basically one of the best holidays in the world.  Red, white, and blue everything and pictures galore!  But we don't get to celebrate July 4th in the classroom.  Bummer.  BUT - we get a lot of other red, white, and blue fun days in September.

Constitution Day is September 17th.  A lot of students are too young to understand the concept of The Constitution.  Heck ... do I even understand the concept of The Constitution? ... Not confidently.  That's for sure.  Most students, do, however, understand that the flag is special and a symbol of our country, as are the glorious colors of red, white, and blue! (P.S. 15 points for anyone that correctly identifies how many times I typed the colors red, white, and blue 😂 )

We love this patriotic headband idea from Kinder-Craze!

This headband is a fun way to introduce the colors, the flag, and their special meanings.

We've also linked a few books that are great at introducing the topic of The Constitution in a fun way!

And THIS website - is full of amazing documents, pictures, lesson ideas and coloring pages for ALL ages.

We'd love to hear how you celebrate patriotic days in your classroom!  And as always, be sure to check out our September tags!

Thanks for reading!
